Dr. Lori Carnsew - Headshot

Meet Dr. Lori Carnsew.

Dr. Lori Carnsew began her career as an electrical engineer, hoping to work on technology in the healthcare field. However, her love of biology led her to medical school and Family Medicine. For over 25 years, she has practiced traditional family medicine, caring for patients of all ages: from delivery through end-of-life. During this time, she has remained married and mothered three kindhearted children of her own into adulthood.

A decade ago, Dr. Carnsew embraced lifestyle medicine in her practice, recognizing that a large part of helping people heal is providing them with education and practical tools for self-improvement — a method that is almost non-existent in the current healthcare landscape. In 2017, she started a Direct Primary Care practice with a teaching kitchen, focusing on whole-person care and empowering patients to thrive.

Delightfully inspired by her youngest patients, who are often the most adventurous when trying new things, Dr. Carnsew developed a passion for sharing healthy habits with families. In 2025, she published her first children’s book “How to Live Like a Superhero.”

Through writing and teaching, Dr. Carnsew hopes to show children (and their grown-ups) that small, everyday choices – like eating well, staying active, and being kind to yourself – can boost real-life superpowers and make every day an adventure in health!
